This post goes out to all those who believe they have come to the end of the road. You may have ended a relationship, lost someone or something important, or left a job. You might have tried everything possible to help, love or bless someone, only to have them close down. You could have worked diligently to put a deal, a plan or a dream together, only to have it end without any warning signs. But whatever it was, I hope you realize that it isn't really the end of the road. It's just a sign that says that it's time to find a different way. And it is my hope that you find encouragement in these words - and in the words of so many others who have been there and faced that. Because there truly is another route to happiness, peace, success and fulfillment... And if you look for it, you can find it. I saw the sun shining brightly on the American flag this morning in Anthem, Arizona. It immediately reminded me of the real reason we observe Veteran's Day in America - to honor, remember and celebrate all those who have served to help keep our nation free. I know I speak for many when I say, we humbly and gratefully thank you for your service. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Original Facebook post April 22, 2016 ·
This morning I thought about the message I heard in church yesterday. It was about being called to be our higher selves and to be more compassionate and tactful with others. It was a good reminder for me to check my filter to make sure I'm always doing my best to patiently respect and honorably encourage others in my communications with them. I read this article 7 Ways to Boost Your Gratitude by Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo this morning and the opening JFK quote jumped out at me. It was a great reminder for me on this Thanksgiving weekend to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, throughout the entire year. I hope it blesses your life as well. I just discovered that this intersection is on the next block over from me in Anthem, AZ. So I took it as a reminder for anyone debating on starting or struggling to finish something amazing in their lives. We are often right around the corner from glory and adventure. So take it as sign and go for it. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Original Facebook post Jul 01, 2013
I went looking for a resource for a friend who is suffering. I found this amazing book at the library by Arizona author, Bob Deits called Life After Loss: A Practical Guide to Renewing Your Life After Experiencing Major Loss. Since we are all reeling in the tragic loss of our valiant fire fighters today, I thought it might be timely to post about it. If you - or someone you know - needs compassionate, helpful insights to cope with divorce, death, heartbreak, betrayal, relocation, employment issues, disease, disappointment, or significant loss of any type, I hope and pray that you will find this healing resource of great value. A friend recommended Traveling Light: Releasing the Burdens You Were Never Intended to Bear to me when I was going through a rough patch. I figured that if I could get it for free from the library then it must be a sign. (Lord knows I’m thrifty. Literally.) Well, the book was there and so I read it. And the best way I can describe it is that it’s like a great big hug from heaven. And then God gives you a pony. :-) As for the author, Max Lucado? Well, he became my role model as a writer. He can make you laugh, cry, think and find peace –sometimes in the same paragraph. So if you know anyone who is weary from carrying their burdens, have them check this book out.
