If you like small, picturesque mountain towns then Field, BC is your field of dreams. The population is about 170 people, so you are not going to battle any crowds to take in the beauty. It has a great little eatery called the Siding Cafe (where I saw a server who obviously loved the area so much she sported a tattoo of the adjacent mountain range on her arm). There's a lodge and restaurant called Truffle Pigs and a gorgeous little church. The school is so small that some years there is only one person graduating, which I'm guessing means you could be the homecoming queen AND the starting quarterback. And Field is located in YOHO National Park, which is Cree expression of wonder and awe, not an acronym for You Only Hike Once. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Comments are closed.
