 I debated over some sunny destinations, but Florida won out for two reasons. First, I grew up in the Detroit area and we only had to take one road to get there - I 75 (AKA Michigan's Driveway). So, that meant many people I knew went to FL to vacation or retire. Second, I got chased out of Florida twice by hurricanes (I was starting to take it personally), so I was long overdue to connect with those aforementioned Michigan party people and retirees.
