Of all the incredible stories I heard at the National D-Day Memorial the one that impacted me most was General Eisenhower’s Two D-Day Messages. The first message is best known because he penned it for his troops for when they won at D-Day. The second, lesser-known message is the one he wrote in the event they lost. And in that message he restates his pride in their monumental efforts and takes all the responsibility for the loss.
