 I like this place for what it is now, and for what it once was for me. Today Whiskey Rae's in Rochester Hills, Michigan is a spacious restaurant with an impressive menu. But 48 years ago, it was the site of a very popular discotheque dance club called Thumpers where I worked the front door. I was able to get my buddies jobs there, socialize with the customers and get my friends in where there was a line outside. And I got to listen to some incredible music.
