 My gracious host and fellow traveler put together quite a road trip itinerary for us in west Michigan. Our first stop was both simple and profound - the Pleasant Hill Blueberry Farm in Fennville, MI. It is a beautiful sea of poppies planted by two parents who wanted to honor their late son who lost his life to suicide after serving in Afghanistan. Today the field gives comfort to fellow veterans suffering from PTSD and to many who are seeking comfort and solace from hardships they are facing.
