Muscle & Fitness.
I grew up reading Muscle and Fitness magazines, so when I became a writer and photographer for them in January, 1995 it was like a dream come true. I was able to interview and learn from the world’s top champions in powerlifting, fitness, nutrition and bodybuilding. And I was blessed to photograph the best physiques at the biggest competitions in the world including the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic and the Olympia Contests. During the many years I worked with Muscle and Fitness, it enjoyed a print readership of 7.5 Million in 80 countries and 14 languages. So it was a thrill knowing my content and images benefiting people around the globe. I will be ever grateful to the Joe Weider, Tom Deters, Bob Wolff, Bill Geiger and a host of editors, mentors and colleges who helped me hone my skills. And I am grateful for every athlete, celebrity, expert and model who was courteous enough to allow me to photograph and/or interview them. Magazines.
A few years ago I got to write an article on world champion fitness athlete, Dale Tomita for Muscle and Fitness magazine. It was a particular pleasure for me because I worked with Dale at New Vision (now Vemma) and she was a joy to be around. She had an amazing gymnastics routine, dynamic figure, and a winning, warm personality.
When Jay Cutler first turned pro, my editors from Muscle and Fitness magazine assigned me to do three articles in a row on him. So by the third one, I was thinking "what have I not already learned about this rising star that I haven't written already?" But that question was answered when they said they wanted an article on his bodybuilding diet - and oh by the way, the guy eats 10,000 calories a day and buys a half a cow at a time to make sure he gets enough protein. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun doing the interview with Jay. And while I think my original title for the article was "Where's The Beef?", I liked the "Holy Cow!" one they picked even better
