My next stop in Atlanta, GA was to visit my longtime friend, Millie Carter. Millie and I met back in the early 1980’s when I was working for 24 Hour Nautilus in Arizona. I asked her to join our promotional group - The Bod Squad - and gave her a free membership as a perk. Well, fast forward a few years and Millie went from having her first workout to winning a Ms. Universe bodybuilding title. Today she has officially retired from competing and lives in Cartersville, GA. (And no, the town isn’t named after her although it should be because she’s just that awesome.) :-) All of that brings me to the painting of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Millie took me to the Booth Western Art Museum which is just packed with incredible sculpture and art celebrating the Wild West. (See photos here.) And I chose to post this one because I actually got to see Roy and Dale perform their famous cowboy song many years ago at Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral. I was thrilled to see them sing that song live because I grew up watching them on black and white TV. So with many thanks to Millie for taking me to this wonderful art exhibit, I think I’ll just let Roy and Dale sing me out because it is perfectly fitting for my goodbyes on this trip. And yes, you can join in if you like. :-) Happy trails to you, Until meet again. Happy trails to you, Until we meet again…
