 (My plan was to spend three weeks in Florida visiting friends and family, but that all changed yesterday morning when I got the confirmation that a Category 4 hurricane was heading directly at us. So I drove the nearly 900 miles from Jacksonville, FL area to Houston, TX yesterday in order to get out of harm's way. Thankfully my wonderful cousin, Beverly and her terrific husband, Lee kept the welcome light on for me. Today they took me one of their favorite places - Houston Museum of Natural Sciences. In addition to the great art in the area - including this impressive Sam Houston Monument - the museum hosts a wide variety of very interesting and educational exhibits. So if you are looking for a city with both culture and history, I think you will say, Houston, we have no problem. (I wanted to do a few puns about this photo but ran out of time. You see....wait for it... there is a statue of limitations.) :-)
