I used to wake up every Monday morning with some terrific goals. This week I will... 1. Drive myself to make a million bucks a year. 2. Hike circles around a mountain top every day. 3. Marry Sandra Bullock. 4. Et Cetera. Et Cetera. Et Cetera. But by Friday of the same week, reality would hit and my goals would spiral downward into something like: 1. Drive over to Circle K and rent a movie with Sandra Bullock in it. Then one day I was photographing Darren Hardy when he spoke about The Compound Effect. And what he said made sense to my all or nothing fixated/frustrated brain... Commit to doing one thing well, and once you have success with achieving that goal, add one more goal. (My paraphrase.) So now I'm more realistic - and therefore - a little more successful. So with that said, I'm sharing my goal for this week: "This week I will be the kind of caring friend who listens and encourages."
