On May 30, 2021, a lifelong friend emailed me to ask if I could come pet sit for her in Michigan. So I packed my car and left Phoenix, AZ just in time to avoid the blistering heat. Since I wanted to do more tourist-like things on my trip, I thought it was only fitting to stop at the Tourist Home in Flagstaff, AZ for breakfast. In the 1920s it was "a boarding house of sorts, where the sheepherders would congregate." Today it has great food and a chill modern day vibe, so there was no need for me to feel sheepish :-) about stopping there.
