In a city filled with astounding murals, this one jumped out at me for two reasons. First, the vibrant colors are intense and so is the message, "The strong must protect the weak". Secondly, the fact that it was located on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard made it even more meaningful. Because in a moment of truth, Rosa Parks took a strong stand against racism by refusing to give up her seat on a bus. And today everyone - regardless of race, creed or color - can ride a bus in Detroit, Michigan at the Rosa Parks Transit Center which is named in her honor.
