I got lost in Wilderness State Park in Michigan. I went down a rough road that I was sure would take me where I wanted to go. It didn't. So I had to turnaround and go back to the beginning. In doing so I realized it was a good metaphor for life. Sometimes we hit a rough patch. Sometimes we have to go back and start all all over again. And sometimes getting lost in the wilderness teaches us to be more prayerful, resourceful, determined, humble, compassionate and grateful - and that makes the detour all worthwhile.
