I thought the best way to celebrate the conclusion of my two year, 6000+ kilometer/3700 mile transcontinental Oh Canada! trip was to take a walk in the Peace Arch Park. It is an international park consisting of Peace Arch Provincial Park in Canada and the Peace Arch Historical State Park in the US. The park straddles the international boundary between our two countries and sits at the extreme western end of our contiguous land borders. It has the distinction of being the first such structure in history to celebrate long lasting peace between two countries. As I walked in the park, I couldn't help think of all the qualities that make our two great nations different and all those that make us alike. And paramount among the latter is our mutual desire for lasting peace. May it always continue. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Comments are closed.
