In all years I spent growing up in Michigan, I never made it down to the Motown Museum. So when the Two Debbies (link here) said they wanted to go tour it, I was all in.
The best way I can describe the tour is "highly emotional". You see, this was the music my generation grew up listening to. These are the songs we sang when we walked to school or danced to in the school gym. These are the artists that taught us about love, hope, heartache, justice, joy and acceptance. These are the memories that are so powerful that we are instantly transported in time when we hear them today. And it was all created right there simply because one man believed it could be done and he believed the kids in the neighborhood were the ones who could do it. With that said, I'll close with this video (link here) of my all time favorite Motown Song and the song my daughter, Jessie and I chose to dance to at her wedding. I'm willing to bet that it is one of your favorites too. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Comments are closed.
