Original Post: On July 25, 2017, I will begin my coast to coast trip across Canada. My mission is to discover the beauty and people of my Mother’s home country as it celebrates its 150th birthday. And my goal is as to drive as far as I can go without getting my wheels wet. :-)
Based on some great input, the trip will be in two separate phases (see graphic and links below). But I have also built in extra time to photograph Amazing Faces and Amazing Places and collect even more Stories From The Road Les Traveled. (Gotta work that branding in!) So if you have suggestions for people to visit, places to see, referrals for gigs or photo ops to earn my keep or gas money, “can’t miss” local secrets, friendly places I can car camp, or other travel tips from fellow road trip warriors, please let me know. Phase 1: From Eastern Canada to Michigan –July 25ish to Aug 7ish. (See proposed map here.) Phase 2: From Michigan to Vancouver – Aug 14ish to Aug 28ish. (See proposed map here.) Update 2017: As you now know, I had to postpone the western half of the cross country Canada trip because of the terrible forest fires out there. So I created two Google Maps showing the approximate journey that I actually took in these links - Route 1 and Route 2. I've also included two maps with a start and end date below that might help you visualize the two routes and explain why there’s some gaps between posts about Colorado and Michigan (which I visited twice).
