I discovered Mason, Michigan a few weeks ago and was so taken by it that I just had to come back. In addition to the striking statues honoring those who have served (link here), there is a lot to appreciate. The magnificent courthouse is the centerpiece of the historic downtown. Next to it is an impressive marker honoring those who served. And then there's the mural depicting "Perfect Mason". At first I thought the city was doing a little "humble brag" about how cool they were, but some research revealed it is actually a name of a kind of Mason jar.
