Denver, Colorado may be known as the Mile High City, but its clever repurposing of airplanes and terminals has elevated the city to even greater heights. The Lowry Beer Garden (shown above) is a 9,000 square foot dining and craft brew restaurant located in the former Lowry Air Force Base. The Constellation Ice Cream shop on the former Stapleton International Airport deserves major props for its iconic mid-century airliner design. And the Stanley in nearby Aurora, CO, once home to Stanley Aviation, now hosts over 50 places you can take off to go shop, eat, drink and play.
