 I met a brilliant artist a few years ago in Salida, Colorado. She recently reached out to me to see if I would some day be interested in house sitting her Earthship. I thought, "Sure!....uh, what's an Earthship?" Turns out in her case, it's a gorgeous, art-filled home with thick walls built out of recycled tires and rammed sand. The Earthship building style became popular in Taos, NM and has now spread due to it's eco-friendly, highly energy efficient construction.
