Independence Pass is so scary at points that I’ve nicknamed it “In Depends Pants Pass”. But the views from this sometimes one laner where no barrier separates me from my own screaming death plunge are so spectacular that it is well worth the risk. As you can see the lower elevations are stunningly green, resplendent in wildflowers and the mountains sparkle with acres of snow. And since my friends and family back in Arizona are suffering their first 115 degree heat spell of the summer, I figured they’d want to see lots of snow shots in this gallery to help them think cool thoughts.
