Here's a few things that will start you on the right path in America The Beautiful. Part 3: Faces & Places. The order you see in the Table Of Contents below is the original order in which the photos were posted. Since the order seems a little random, I also created a Links To All Amazing Faces & Places page where you will find links to these and other photos grouped by category.
About These Faces And Places: I want to thank everyone across America who hired me to photograph them. Your kindness and generosity helped me finance this trip. I want to thank all those friends, family and perfect strangers who were kind enough to pose for pictures. Even when you didn't feel like it. I also want to thank all the tremendous artists for their incredible work displayed throughout this great land. I hope the images I have posted help you get the recognition and new business you deserve. And last, but certainly not least, I want to thank God for giving us such a gorgeous country to photograph. It truly is America The Beautiful. About The Author: When I'm not authoring Encouraging Words or gathering Stories From The Road Les Traveled, I am a Dad, Granddad, writer, photographer, marketer and trainer. About The Missing Links: I have left out some additional pages that appeared my original blogs. However, to preserve continuity and offer added reference, I have made them available as links on my Archives page. About The Dates: To publish this ebook in a timely manner, I built it using Weebly's remarkable website builder blogging program. That meant I had to manually reorder the blog dates so they would read in proper sequence. So please ignore the dates under each header as they do not pertain to the actual start and end dates which were May 26, 2016 to October 9, 2016. © 2017 Les Maness. All rights reserved. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories I began planning Stories From The Road Les Traveled in early 2016 while living in Anthem, AZ - a master planned community located just north of Phoenix, AZ. It is a beautiful place built for families, rooted in American pride, and the streets are literally lined with positive signs of Inspiration. People come from all over the world to visit the Anthem Veteran's Memorial. And thousands gather at 11:11 AM on Veterans Day (Nov. 11), where the sun's rays pass through the ellipses of the five pillars representing our Armed Services to spotlight the mosaic of The Great Seal of the United States.
Update 2017: Note that where Slideshows are included, you need to select a photo and wait until the arrows at the top of the photo appear. Then push the Play arrow (upper left) to let the slideshow run automatically or push the back and forth arrows (upper right) to scroll through manually. Also note that I made a switch from using slideshows to using galleries about half way through (from Sarah and Jake forward) because I determined the galleries displayed better on mobile devices. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories When I told Mother/Author/Screen Writer/Speaker/Lawyer, Kerrie Droban about my travel plans, the world traveler was very enthusiastic and booked a "Fantasy Photography" session in Anthem, AZ to help me get on the road. When she asked her teenage son what look she should go for? He said, "Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones". And with sword in hand, she killed it! To see more photos, click on Kerrie Droban's Page on my business website.
Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories Ashley is a student, artist and photographer so I wanted to create some images that reflected her creative talent and diverse personality. My goal is always to capture a few photos of the subject looking their everyday best (AKA the prints that the family hangs on the walls) and some so artsy that it doesn't even look like them (AKA the ones the model wants to post on social media). :-) I think Ashley did a great job at those looks in her first Model Shoot in Cave, Creek, AZ.
Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories I got a last minute call to shoot this awesome company party for Republic Services
at Top Golf in Scottsdale, AZ. The people were soooo much fun! A special thanks to Michele Casey and her staff for making me feel so welcome. And to Mike Gallagher (who's band rocked the house!) and my buddies, Trystan Trenberth and Joe Reyes for the much appreciated referral that will help me get on the road. Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories A special thanks to Von Marie Worosylla for going the extra miles to make her daughter Franque's Graduation photo shoot happen. They drove 100 miles round trip (in traffic! Ugh) so we could get these photos done. It sure was fun shooting the photos and I sure appreciate their willingness to Take Your Best Shot to help me get on the road.
Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories I can’t talk about Amazing Places without highlighting just a few of the many extraordinary ones I’m temporarily leaving behind in Arizona. So here's a few local gems that will give you a delicious taste of downtown Phoenix, AZ. The names and website links are provided in the captions of each of the quick phone shots I took. A special thanks to the marvelous Monique Bontrager and my incredible realtor, Sammy Glassman for recommending these unique places, and to my longtime friend, Debbie Fovenisi for doing this restaurant crawl with me.
Cover Contents Books Home Hire Stories When I hit The Road next week I plan on discovering and revisiting some of the most Amazing Places in America. I will use the method that has worked so well for me in the past – asking local people for their personal recommendations for terrific experiences at affordable prices. With that said, I would be remiss in not pointing out a little treasure closer to home – Market Street in DC Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ. This “best kept neighborhood secret” I recently visited with the incomparable Midi Daddis hosts a bunch of awesome restaurants that excel in food, beverage and ambiance at a reasonable price. So if you are looking for something quaint and relaxing, see the captions under each photos for details.
