 Windmill Island Garden in Holland, Michigan takes the phrase "going Dutch" to a whole new gorgeous level. The beauty spreads out over 36 acres of manicured gardens with tranquil canals, a hand-painted Dutch carousel, a colorful children's garden and a family playground. The centerpiece is the DeZwaan Windmill, which is the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the US. During the season you can find costumed guides, tour a replica of a Dutch Inn and see all the flags of the Netherlands flying proudly. And if you go in the spring you can see over 100,000 tulips blooming throughout the historic, picturesque setting.
